The ideal homemade Sausage Burger recipe for an easy family meal, or if Dad fancies taking his BBQ duties to the next level! Layer up with your favourite toppings and enjoy.
600g Simon Howie Premium Pork Sausages (2 packs)
65g breadcrumbs
4 tbsp caramelised onion chutney
4 brioche buns
4 cheese slices
Beef tomato
4 lettuce leaves
Salt and pepper
1. Bring your BBQ to its ideal temperature for cooking.
2. Remove the sausage skins and place the meat in a bowl. Add the breadcrumbs, 2 tbsp of chutney, salt and pepper and mix well with your hands. Divide mixture into four and shape into burger patties.
2. Grill the burgers on the BBQ until beautifully charred on both sides, making sure they’re cooked all the way through. Around 1 minute before they’re done, put a cheese slice on top of each patty to melt.
3. Slice the buns and toast for a minute on the BBQ to form light char marks. Layer the buns with lettuce and sliced tomato, then top with a burger and some of the remaining chutney.
4. Pop the lid on top, serve with your favourite BBQ accompaniments, sit back and enjoy!
