What happens when pizza and hotdogs collide? 🔥 Hasselback pizza dogs are born! Grilled jumbo dogs sliced and layered up with salsa, mozzarella and pepperoni. Finished with @angusandoink pizza rub. Served with riblets and pan-fried chips, this combo is a real showstopper.

ingredients

Simon Howie Pork Jumbo Dogs

Sub Rolls

Salsa

Pepperoni slices

Mozzarella slices

Pizza rub (Angus and oinks “slice slice baby”) or Italian herbs of choice

Method

Grill the jumbo dog until nearly done BBQ adds that bit of flavour.

Split the roll lengthways and spread with the salsa on both surfaces then dust with the pizza rub (or Italian herbs ).

Take jumbo dog off the grill and lay length ways, then cut across the bun and sausage and insert cheese and pepperoni into the slots . Another shake of rub over the top.

Once completed, place the whole thing back on the grill/BBQ (indirect ) and cover with the lid, (or oven).

Once the cheese has melted and roll is slightly toasty it’s ready.

We served with sweetcorn riblets and mini potato wedges.
