Summer, sadly has pretty much left us here in Scotland. Whilst it might be time to cover up the BBQ and say goodbye to sunny garden dinners and long evenings, something about Autumn and the changing seasons gets us all excited – and that’s hearty, wholesome, comforting soups.
There’s something special about putting on your slippers and a cosy jumper and curling up with a bowl of soup. It’s like a hug for your insides!
If, like us, you are ready to embrace the season head-on and want to crack out the crock pot – here are three soup-er ideas to get you started to welcome Autumn into your kitchen.
An oldie but goodie, there’s nothing like this comfort food classic to warm up the dark evenings ahead. This recipe uses our smoked ham hough, garlic, carrots and onions, which gives the stock its intense and satisfying flavour ahead of the stock being mixed with garden peas, cream and seasonings to provide it with its wonderful flavour. Once cooked, top with shredded ham for a hearty meal – nom!

Created by lovely Simon Howie customer and wellness enthusiast Melanie, this low-carb soup also uses our soup-er-star ingredient, Ham Hough, and it’s the perfect winter warmer for the cold days ahead.
