Can you believe the tattie holidays are upon us already? Wasn’t it summer about 2 seconds ago? On top of keeping everyone entertained and constantly breaking up fights over the one piece of Lego everyone needs for their amazing creations, you also have to meal plan. Or, at the very least, have a vague idea of what you can chuck in the oven at the 50th request of Mum/Dad – I’m huuuun-gry!

To save you both some time and some stress (but sorry, we can’t help with the Lego wars), we’ve compiled a list of 5 kid-friendly recipes they will love making and eating! All of which will take you 30 minutes or less to put together.

1. Square sausage rolls

We’ve all had a sausage roll before, but have you ever thought about having one with square sausage? If the answer is no, then we think you should definitely give this a go. These are perfect for a lunchtime nibble or as part of a bigger dinner. They are also great for cutting up and taking out in a lunch box if you are planning any outdoor adventures. The best bit? They take just 5 minutes to prep and 20 minutes to oven cook – Wowie!

Plus, as the method is so simple, it’s an excellent recipe for the kids to get involved with. You need some Simon Howie steak Lorne or veggie square if you fancy a meat-free treat, ready-rolled pastry, an egg and some sauce – Easy! You can find the full recipe here.
