If you’ve got beef with microwave bacon (see what we did there?), try to cook it in the oven instead if you have a wee bit more time to spare.
1. Preheat the oven to 190°c.
2. Cover a baking tray with foil and lay the rashers on the tray with plenty space between each.
3. Pop in the oven for roughly 10 minutes, then turn the rashers over for another 5-8 minutes depending on where you sit on the bacon scale. Peely-wally, or verging on carbon? It’s up to you. Bear in mind they will cook quickly as they are sitting in the hot fat so keep a close eye!
4. Transfer to a plate lined with a piece of kitchen towel to soak up any fat.
The same method applies if you’d prefer to use a wire rack, but will take a little longer on each side since the bacon is not getting the heat directly from the tray.
