ingredients

3 rashers of Simon Howie bacon

Method

Personal preferences for the crispiness of your bacon will determine cooking time, but these simple steps will have a bacon buttie in your hand in a game-changing matter of minutes.

  1. Firstly, place a sheet of kitchen roll on top of a microwavable plate. This will help to soak up any liquid.
  2. Lay out the required number of rashers, making sure they are spread slightly apart. Place another piece of kitchen roll on top to protect the inside of your microwave from spatters.
  3. Cook on full power for 2 minutes, or roughly 30 seconds per rasher. Again, this is completely personal preference, so we recommend a bit of trial and error! This will cook the bacon through but leave pale and not yet crispy. Fire them in for another 30-40s to crisp up around the edges.
  4. Remove from the microwave and serve up in a roll with a ‘dode’ of sauce, or however takes your fancy.

And there you have it! Bacon in a hurry, and no greasy pans to wash up. It’s a win-win.
