Absolutely delighted to be sponsoring a cow as part of the Hairy Highland Coo Trail in aid of a charity very close to our hearts Children’s Hospices Across Scotland.

From the 28th of June to the 6th of September, a herd of 30 highland coos will take over Perth and Kinross, each individually designed and painted by talented artists. The coo trail will contribute to the social, cultural and economic growth of Perth and Kinross by attracting visitors to our beautiful area.

The coos will be placed strategically in streets, parks and public spaces, transforming our community into an open air gallery that sparks joy in all who visit. The sculptures will then be sold at auction to raise much needed funds for Children’s Hospices Across Scotland, to help make sure nobody faces the death of their child alone.

Our cow #WowieCowie has been designed and painted by the wonderful and extremely talented Gail Stirling Robertson a local artist also based in Dunning who we have had the pleasure of working with lots in the past (she is responsible for our lovely boy and dog illustrations that appear on pack and across our website)

You can find #WowieCowie at Millais’ Viewpoint, Bellwood Riverside Park, Perth, PH2 7AQ. There is free 15 min parking 30 seconds away from him s0 super convenient to pop in and see him.

If you visit him, you unlock a special offer to receive a free black pudding when you spend £10 or more in either of our butcher shops and if you take a picture with him and post it to social media with the hastag #wowiecowie we will enter you into a prize draw to win a bumper Simon Howie Meat Box.

I ticked off about 10 of the coos the first weekend and I can’t recommend them highly enough. Obviously, I love ours with his gorgeous orange wellies but they are all unique and special pieces of art and the art trail is definitely a wonderful excursion to put on the Summer Holiday to-do-list and all for such an incredible and worthwhile cause.

Please check out the work CHAS does to support families going through everyone’s worst nightmare and we hope you will visit at least some of the cows on the trail and make a small donation to such a worthwhile cause if you do.

It’s going to be MOOvellous!!
