ingredients

1 pack of Simon Howie Square Sausages (4 slices)

400g ready-rolled pizza dough

100g mozzarella chunks

Small handful of fresh basil

 

For the tomato sauce

1 tbsp olive oil, plus a drizzle

2 garlic cloves, crushed

200ml passata

Method

1. Preheat your oven to 200°C/Fan 180°C/Gas 6. Leave the pizza dough on the counter to come to room temperature for approx. 10-15 mins before using.

2. Meanwhile, prepare your tomato base! Put the oil in a pan and fry the garlic to soften, taking care not to brown. Add the passata and simmer until the sauce thickens. Leave to cool.

3. Cook the square sausage as per the pack instructions. Once ready, slice into small, even chunks.

4. Unroll the pizza dough. Place onto a baking tray, lined with baking paper. Prick the dough evenly with a fork.

5. Spread the cooled tomato base across the dough, and top with the square sausage, mozzarella and basil.

6. Place on the middle shelf of the oven for 15-25 minutes until cooked and the edges are crisp.
