Simon Howie Foods is a multi-award-winning food business, with a reputation of quality and reliability. A family business, Simon Howie, who started as a local butcher, continues to use his inspiring entrepreneurial leadership to guide the business as it continues to invest and adapt to the ever-changing commercial landscape.

We will produce in the region of 2.5 million cases of product this year at our factory in Dunning and we are proud to now be the 3rd biggest food and drink brand in Scotland.

We are looking for an experienced, highly organised and capable person to be responsible for all stock control activities within our business. The stock includes, but is not restricted to:

• Fresh Meats
• Dry Goods / Seasonings
• Multiple Packaging
• Cleaning Chemicals / Materials
• Frozen Goods
• Kitchen Ingredients

The business must react to the daily needs of our customers; our stock has a life span; we must have fresh products with a good shelf-life.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead the stock control activities and day-to-day controlling of stock
• Regular informal meetings with the Operations, Sales, and Brand teams to keep them up to date with any issues and agree any next steps
• Enhance current processes and procedures where possible
• Monitoring housekeeping, damaged stock, and reasons for damages
• Reconcile and verify all deliveries to invoices
• Liaise with the Goods in and Despatch team to control goods inwards and receipting of stock

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Previous stock control experience will be a significant advantage
• Previous experience in a large factory or warehouse environment will be a significant advantage
• Highly organised
• Good working knowledge of MS office, including MS Excel
• Good attention to detail
• Experience of dealing with external customers and suppliers
• An investigative nature to question if something does not appear to be correct
• Confident with effective customer service skills
• Strong verbal and written communication – fluent in English (spoken and written)

It is preferred that applicants live within 30 minutes commute of Dunning.
