Eilidh Wynd, our passionate, dedicated, and literally ‘all the fun’ Commercial Executive was crowned Young Talent of the Year at this year’s Scotland Food and Drink Excellence Awards. Everyone at Simon Howie is so proud and delighted for her.

The judges commented that Eilidh’s application ‘Showcased a strong personality and passion for the industry. Not only demonstrating her own personal growth but also innovation and awareness of how to use those skills to inspire others to view Scottish food and drink differently. Her approach aims to engage consumers and future colleagues, encouraging them all to become more involved in the sector.’

The awards bring together the great and the good from the Scottish food and drink industry – from household brand names and artisan suppliers to agency partners and supermarket buyers. To see the impact and connections Eilidh has made so early in her career and to feel the outpouring of support for her from across the sector was to clearly understand why she is an extremely worthy winner.

Eilidh had worked hard on her application for the award, clearly outlining her growth and development since leaving Uni and her self-motivated ways of networking and becoming a recognised voice within the sector, namely her Linkedin blog which documents the ups and downs of her life as a Commercial Exec.

Eilidh was delighted to win the award and we are sure it will do much to fuel her passion for the industry moving forward.  In her Linkedin post after the awards she praised the support she has had from the Simon Howie team, especially her line manager Steven Lynn ‘I have never had a boss so supportive, nurturing, mentoring and all-round wonderful as Steven. He has pushed me to try new things [and] has picked me up when I have [fallen]. Being part of Team Commercial here is what little me always dreamt of, and you support my constant enthusiasm more than anyone else.’
